SportRack

Product Description

, Huffy Green Machine ">, Razor E100 Electric Scooter ">, Razor MX500 Dirt Rocket Electric Motocross Bike ">, Super Turbo 800watt Elite 36v Electric Scooter "Red" ">, This hitch-mounted three-bike rack fits 1.25- or two-inch hitch receivers, with a single arm design that accepts race, mountain, or touring bikes. A "no-wobble" threaded hitch pin prevents rack sway, while rubber extrusion prevents damage to your bikes' frames. Bikes with top tubes up to 2.5 inches in diameter easily fit into the rack's receiver slots, and the device tilts down for easy access to the rear of your vehicle when not in use. A locking kit, sold separately, is also available.
In all, the basket offers an impressive combination of design, durability, and affordability when you need to safely transport your bikes from point A to point B.

The prodcut is solid and well built.

The problem is with our Chrysler minivan my adult bile hangs within 6 or 8 inches of the pavement. If your hitch is relatively low to the ground as on a minivan I'd choose another product.

I didn't actually use this product because of the above.

However I think I would find the bike hold down method slightly cumbersome. The screw turns down a long way and you aren't fastening each bike individually. You do them all at the same time.

Also while the optional locking hitch pin looks nice and looks like it would snug up the play in the hitch, it doesn't completely secure the rack. The bolts that attach the upright to the base can be removed with an ordinary wrench. Meaning the bikes and the upright could easily be removed while leaving the locked base in the hitch.
